The VitA POS® eye ointment is a night time care for dry eyes. Due to its viscous formulation, it is particularly well-suited for individuals who suffer in the morning from crusty eyes, residue on the eyelid margin and the sticking together of the eyelids during sleep.

What are the benefits?

The VitA POS® eye ointment prevents the unpleasant scratching of the eyes in the morning, and supports natural tear film with Vitamin A. When the smooth ointment is applied over the eyes, it spreads itself gently all over the surface of the cornea and conjunctiva, so that these structures are able to regenerate overnight and feel well-rested and protected in the morning.

Additionally, the VitA POS® formulation contains the ingredient vitamin A (retinyl palmitate) which is also contained in natural lacrimal fluid. Vitamin A beneficially helps improve the quality of tear film. Any vitamin A deficiency can lead to corneal dryness (xerosis), keratomalacia and corneal ulceration, which is primarily affected by the quality of the tear film in protecting the eye and preventing dryness-related discomfort.

VitA POS® is also preservative and phosphate free, which can adversely affect the health of the eyes, depending on the individual.

Who should use VitA POS®?

External factors such as prolonged exposure to air conditioning, dust, pollution, wind, video screen and monitors can exacerbate the symptoms of dry eye. This results in a dry, gritty, and tired eye. Individuals who have dry eye disease or meibomian gland dysfunction should use VitA POS® to help to relieve the symptoms associated with prolonged exposure in these conditions.

Who should use VitA POS®?

Use the VitA POS® overnight for best results. Squeeze a small amount into the eye before sleep. In the morning, the eyes should feel hydrated and refreshed, replenished with overnight moisture. Use the VitA POS® eye ointment for up to 6 months after first opening.
